KINFOLK TALK

  • I joined Bri and seven other Black women for Detty December in Ghana 2022 and it was one of the best trips I've ever been on! I have traveled widely mostly/usually solo, but I couldn't have imagined a better trip for my first group retreat. Bri planned absolutely everything and all I had to do was pay and show up. She had been to Ghana 3x previous to our group trip and is so knowledgeable, prepared, kind and caring for everyone in the group, so I had no doubts that we were in good hands with her (and Cycy who led all the daytime group tours). For someone who plans all their own travel it was really nice to change roles and not have to worry about much. I got to take in all the wonders of Ghana from the nature, food, people and parties and fell in love with the country. I had such a fun time that I'm already considering going back for December 2023! I highly recommend booking with Buoyant Travel for any future trips, it's a guaranteed good time.

  • I had a great time on this trip and am looking forward to traveling with Buoyant again! Bri curated a great group of travelers, arranged beautiful and centrally located accommodations and special activities. The group day trips were well organized, with enough time to enjoy and not feel rushed going from one place to the next while still leaving plenty of time to explore on our own. Afrochella, the waterfall photo shoot, the tour of the city, and our visit to Cape Coast were my favorites. I appreciated Bri's communication throughout the trip, keeping us updated on schedules and changes, and checking in. Also, having a photographer, driver, tour guides, and local connections went a long way, especially while shopping and eating local foods. Everything, and I mean everything I tried, was delicious, from tilapia and banku to okra stew, light soup, waakye, fresh fruits, and bofrot – I enjoyed it all. At the beginning of the trip, I told the ladies I was looking forward to eating and dancing my way through Ghana, and I did just that! I couldn't have asked for a better *first* group trip with beautiful Black women from across the globe to experience the culture, company, and celebration that is December in Ghana. Thank you, Buoyant, for the experience!

  • I traveled with Buoyant Travel group December 2019 and it was such a monumental trip. This trip changed my life. Ghana will forever remain special to me and I have already returned twice. Briona is not only an amazing woman but she is an incredible tour guide. In my opinion, the purpose of booking with a tour group is for convenience, meeting like minded people, reduced stress, an organized trip, and great memories. Briona checked all of these boxes and was super organized. I have quickly referred her to others and I plan to join her group in Brazil!I traveled with Buoyant Travel group December 2019 and it was such a monumental trip. This trip changed my life.
