Film Photo Diary: Picnic in Paris

Words and photography by: Briona Lamback

It feels like I spent the whole summer in Paris. I went twice—once on a mother/daughter trip to AfroPunk and the other with a group of lifelong friends. Both times were awesome (love you, mom), but something magical happens when you get together with other 20-something Black women over wine in Paris.

We all expressed feelings of gratitude for being there and living our fullest lives. But we also chatted about relationships, love, loss, and financial freedom. It was a huge mood booster, and I’m forever thankful for this trip. It’s truly life’s simplest moments that we never forget.

Please enjoy this film photo diary of some Black queens on a Parisian rooftop having a picnic. Baguettes and all.
