Welcome to Salvador, Brazil! We’ll pick you up from Salvador–Deputado Luís Eduardo Magalhães International Airport (SSA) and whisk you to our cozy boutique hotel.
As you settle into your home for the week, we’ll be preparing for tonight’s welcome dinner, where you’ll get your first taste of Salvador with authentic dishes for dinner at one of the city’s best Black-owned restaurants.
After dinner, we’ll hit the Salvador streets for a private music experience at a Black-owned vinyl shop.

Today, you’ll soak up the sights and sounds of the vibrant African market, Salvador’s Historic Center, and a favela community in the city's heart (with stunning views of All Saints Bay) to learn about its people, history, and culture, and taste local food at a Black-owned beachside restaurant.

Plan to arrive in Salvador by 3 PM on the November 4, 2027 at Salvador International Airport (SSA).
We usually have our welcome dinner around 7 PM, so landing earlier allows time to settle into the hotel before dinner.
If your flight arrives after the welcome dinner, causing you to miss the experience, please plan to eat at the hotel’s restaurant (or elsewhere) at your own expense.

Do I need a visa to visit Brazil? Yes, U.S. citizens need an e-visa to enter Brazil. The visa costs approximately $80 USD and must be obtained before travel.
What is the application process? The Brazil e-visa application is completed online through the official Brazilian government portal. Processing typically takes 5 business days, though we recommend applying at least 4 weeks before the trip.
What documents do I need for the visa application? You'll need:
A valid passport with at least 6 months’ validity and 2 blank pages
A recent passport-style photo
Basic personal and travel information
Do I need to show proof of $2,000 in my bank account? No. Despite widespread misinformation online, No specific monetary amount is required for tourist visas to Brazil.
How will Buoyant assist with the visa process? After booking, we'll provide detailed visa application instructions, timeline recommendations, and support for any questions that arise during the process.
While each traveler is responsible for securing their own visa, we're here to guide you through the steps.
When should I apply for my visa? We recommend applying for your Brazil e-visa 30-60 days before departure.

We offer flexible payment plans.
A $750 non-refundable deposit is due at booking, and five equal, bi-monthly payments are automatically billed on:

If a traveler books after a payment date has passed, the missed

Yes! All trip attendees must share a copy of their passport, round trip flight, Brazil tourist visa, and emergency contact information.
We require copies of these documents in case of an emergency and confirm that your documents are valid before traveling to Brazil with Buoyant.
We'll send you a secure link to share this sensitive information. Travelers must submit all documents by October 1, 2026, at 6 PM EST.

By booking this trip, you agree to our cancellation policy, as described below.
For all bookings before June 1, 2027, you may receive a full refund up to 24 hours after booking. Bookings made after June 1, 2027, are not eligible for 24-hour refunds.
Cold feet? If you need to cancel after, we may transfer your trip place and payments to someone else at our discretion.
Due to existing contracts with our tourism partners worldwide, if you cancel after 24 hours, we may or may not provide future trip credits at our discretion.
